Transition is but a deviation from a self induced and deceitful perception of security. One laments about the upheaval that change brings, seeking a past fluid and seemingly unfragmented, disregarding earlier desires for change. The cocoon that is humanity, tries to preserve and reward the static and the unyielding, thus reinforcing the foundations of decadence and normality in the name of preserving the citadels of society. Humans cannot be blamed for opting to forgo their natural inclination towards entropy, for each individual is but a speck of sand in the social bog that sucks us all.
But bog it may be, to the universe it is but negligible to the extent of being almost non existent. But almost is not enough. For millenia it may have existed, but the bog cannot swallow the eternal. Chaos is the way of the universe and the eternal is not be thwarted. What may seem constant and unyielding to our miserably myopic perspectives, is but an existence that feeds of a chaos unending. The desire for chaos which is seemingly self manifested in the self, is but a reflection of the long term entropy that exists in the universe. And as in the universe, it lies dormant, seething and simmering below the surface, unseen except by the subconscious, until one day, it can be restrained no more.
We despair in the darkness of discontent and want, ignorant that it is but light on a eclipsed day, seeking to guide our souls and align them to the rhythms of the universe. But comply with the ways of the universe we must, for the only escape from eternity is death, be it body or spirit. And thus induced is change, unforgiving and all encompassing. To embrace it is to be one with the universe, but flight is an instinct too deeply ingrained. Accept change we do not, opting instead to view myopically the short term solutions that may forestall the inevitable, thus magnifying our misery many fold. Change is not easy, for we are but fragile beings governed by limited intellect. It is this limitation that prevents us from foreseeing the benefits that change would reap, instead leading us down the path of regret where the only view is that of the road already travelled.
It is prudent at times to abandon practicality and wisdom, for these come from the brain, which is governed by it's learnings and thus limited by the short span of it's existence. Rather, true wisdom lies in trusting what has ensured the continued existence of our race. It is not our leanings over the few millennia that have ensured our existence, but what we have ingrained in us as a function of being part of the greater whole. For though the path may be arduous and rewards distant, it is the new road that leads us to better destinations.

you just reminded me of one of the first things that i ever wrote: 'zindagi shayari ki ek kitaab hai... iske har alfaaz me ek rang chhipa hai.. inhi rango ko sochna, jaan na aur samajhna jeena hai... kyonki in rango k badalne me hi zindagi ka sabse bada thehraav hai!' :)
chaos is but a natural state... but how many of us are able to accept it with open arms and float? it is that capacity to float that we lack and that gives us unrest... (u kinda helped me answer the unrest part a bit.. :) ) i need to relearn floating!
